Childcare cases can be complex, emotional, and urgent. That’s why you need experienced, specialist lawyers who understand the legal system, the court process, and how to prepare your case thoroughly. Our dedicated Children Law team approaches every case with sensitivity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.

“Your Voice in Care Proceedings – For Parents and Children Alike.”

How We Can Help?

We offer expert legal advice and representation in all areas of Public children law-related legal matters, including:

Child Protection Conferences
Following a Section 47 assessment, Social Services may recommend a child protection conference to decide whether your child should be placed on the child protection register. We can help you prepare and ensure your voice is heard.

Pre-Proceedings (PLO) Meetings
If Social Services believe your child is at risk of significant harm, they may initiate the Public Law Outline (PLO) process. This is your final opportunity to avoid court proceedings. Legal aid is available, and we will support and advise you throughout.

Emergency Protection Orders (EPOs)
In urgent situations, Social Services may apply to the court to remove a child from home immediately. We can provide emergency legal advice and representation — legal aid is available in these cases.

Care Orders and Supervision Orders
If Social Services believe your child is suffering or at risk of significant harm, they may apply for a Care or Supervision Order. These proceedings typically last up to 26 weeks. We will represent you throughout and help you understand your rights and options. Legal aid is available in these cases.

Discharge of Care Orders
If circumstances change after a Care Order is made, we can help you apply to discharge the order and reunite your family. Legal aid may be available depending on your financial situation and the strength of your case.

Contact with a Child in Care
If your child is in care, they are entitled to maintain reasonable contact with family members. If you feel contact arrangements are unfair, we can help you challenge them. Legal aid may be available.

Inherent Jurisdiction / Deprivation of Liberty
In complex cases, the Local Authority may apply to the High Court for powers not available in the Family Court — for example, to restrict a child’s liberty due to extreme risk. We provide expert advice and representation in these sensitive matters.

Secure Accommodation Orders
If a child is repeatedly absconding or at serious risk of harm, the Local Authority may seek a Secure Accommodation Order. We can advise and represent you throughout this process.

Adoption and Placement Orders
In some cases, the court may decide that adoption is in the child’s best interests. We ensure that your rights are protected and that the Local Authority is held to the highest standards of evidence. Legal aid is usually available.

Other Social Services Involvement
We also advise on early-stage involvement, such as initial assessments or Child in Need plans. Seeking legal advice early can help build positive relationships with professionals and prevent matters from escalating.
